Tokyo 2012: Train

Tokyo is one of the cities with the most expensive taxi fare in the world, to save money for eating and shopping, a good way to get around is by train.

The network is quite complicated, very easy to get lost. There are different train operators, JR, Subway, Metro …, make sure you know the correct station, line and direction / platform before get on the train.

My Tokyo train experience:

JR Yamanote Line 山手線: from Shinjuku 新宿 to Ginza 銀座, probably not the best way, I am not sure!

01

There is no “Ginza” Station in JR line, get off at Yurakucho Station 有樂町駅, one of the exits is “Ginza”.

02

Tokyo Metro Ginza Line: from Ginza to Aoyama 青山.

We got off at Aoyama Itchome Stations 青山一丁目 (the final stop is Shibuya 涉谷)

03

Gaiemmae Station 外苑前 and Omotesando 表参道 of Ginza Line are more near to Aoyama’s shopping area.

06

Toei Odeo Line 都營大江戶線: from Shinjuku 新宿 to Roppongi 六本木

07

We took the train at Shinjuku-Nishiguchi Station 新宿西口, transited at Tochomae Station 都廳前.

08

The direct way is to take the train at Shinjuku Station 新宿

09

Shinjuku-Nishiguchi Station 新宿西口 and Shinjuku Station 新宿 are located within a 2 minutes walk …
